Whilst travelling back and forth to see the missus in Portsmouth last week I finally found time to finish the novel I had been reading for the previous couple of months. To my great embarrassment, this is what it was:

Now, I know what you're thinking. Gay! I'd tend to agree with you, but I don't care anyway; I enjoyed it! It was, in all honesty, very entertaining. Fraught with emotion throughout, with generally good writing from the author in understanding and convincingly portraying the thoughts and feelings of both female and male lead characters; as the tale weaves uniquely through their relationship that sporadically spans decades.
Criticism I have read have commented that although it is an interesting and refreshing concept, the writing can sometimes feel laboured, with generic and cliched goings-on without nearly enough exciting and defining incidents within the story.
I'd tend to agree with all that; but it doesn't prevent it from being an emotive, thought-provoking and worthwhile read. I've therefore awarded it 4 stars, and would recommend it to all but the most die-hard, homophobic, roid-heads from Swansea.
